Located at 180 Nassau St, Princeton, NJ 08542, Madras Dosa Company operates as an indian restaurant serving Princeton in New Jersey. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Princeton, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across New Jersey run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 9 amβ9 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (609) 728-9400. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, madrasdosaco.com.
Its Google rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 209 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.
Princeton is in New Jersey, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Princeton peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

We ordered the pav bhaji dosa and the aalo chaat and mango lassi every single dish was absolutely delicious. The sambar and coconut chutneys (dipping sauces) were absolutely point on authentic chutneys just like from Southern India. It did remind us of our momβs cooking. The restaurant was very clean, well organized and the staff was very knowledgeable on the menu. They also have some really nice non-vegetarian options as well. Overall all the food was very flavorful and we will definitely be visiting again and highly recommend.

When this place first opened up two years ago, I used to eat every day of the week of the first opening week. Their dosas were very plump and filled with lots of food. It was so exciting to have a taste of South India in Princeton. However, since this new year, the quality of the food has gone down significantly. Everything has raw onions in it. The dosa texture is more like paratha. The portion sizes have gone down significantly; they are serving us βdo-β without the β-saβ. Before one dosa used to feed three people, now one person has to have three dosas. Highly recommend their masala Chai and their canteen sandwiches, however.

We had a fantastic experience at Madras Dosa Co.. The menu is bursting with flavor from start to finish. The papdi chaat was a standout, with the perfect balance of sweet and savory, layered with crunch and bright pops of freshness from the pomegranate on top. The masala fries were next level, perfectly seasoned and flavorful without being too spicy, with an ideal texture that was crispy on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside. The staff was warm, attentive, and made us feel very welcome throughout our visit. One note, the masala dosa and lamb filling do have a bit of heat, so keep that in mind if you are sensitive to spice. Overall, a wonderful dining experience. We will definitely be back!

Madras Dosa Company is a fantastic spot for authentic South Indian flavors. Their sandwiches are surprisingly delicious and clearly made with fresh, local ingredients. You can really see the care and effort the team puts into preparing each item. The food tastes homemade and consistently well-crafted. A great place to visit if you appreciate quality, flavor, and genuine hospitality.

It was a great experience at this location, we went to have some amazing dosas and were really impressed by the quality and also the taste of their chutneys. We had Pav Bhaji Dosa, Paneer Pesarattu, Pav Bhaji and Aloo Tikki chat. All these dishes were really tasty and pretty fresh as they are made right in front of you. We also had a Mango Lassi and Sweet Lime Soda, both these drinks were tasty as well.
